Private Health Funds

Depending on your private health fund, you may be eligible for a private health rebate from your Occupational Therapy sessions. I do not have a HIPCAPS machine, so will invoice you in full on the day of treatment and in order to claim a rebate, you present your receipt to your private health fund and they will organise the rebate to your nominated account. Your eligibility for a rebate and amount will depend on your specific health coverage. Private health rebates do alter and coverage may be different depending on when you purchased your private health insurance. Coverage also has annual limits that you will need to check with your private health fund. If you would like to check exactly how much you will get back for therapy services with your specific private health fund, please contact your fund directly and quote one of the following codes:

•100 — OT Initial Assessment Consultation

•250 – OT Subsequent Intervention Consultation

Medicare

Your child may be eligible for a Medicare rebate if they are accessing Occupational Therapy services. You need to get a Medicare Plan from your GP or Paediatrician prior to your first session in order to claim the rebate. To be eligible for this plan a child's medical condition needs to be considered chronic, meaning it has been present for at least 6 months. You cannot claim a Medicare rebate as well as claiming through your private health insurance for the same visit. Please note that I charge a gap fee, so you will have some out-of-pocket expenses.

The following is an outline of the Medicare rebates available when receiving Occupational Therapy services:

CDMP – Chronic Disease Management Plan

•5 sessions per calendar year

•$60.35 rebate per session (subject to change)

Payment of fees is required on the day of appointment via bank transfer.

NDIS

The NDIS has set the fees for Occupational Therapy at $193.99. The initial assessment and report fee for NDIS clients will be $680/$880 and ongoing intervention sessions will cost $193.99.

I am not a registered NDIS service provider but can still provide handwriting intervention to NDIS clients who are self or plan-managed.  NDIS clients will need to pay for the consultation and then claim the funds back from NDIS. If you are plan-managed, your NDIS plan manager will do this for you.  Handwriting intervention is eligible for NDIS funding for the child's functional whole-of-life support needs under the Improved Daily Living or Social and Community Participation categories.  More information can be obtained from ndis.gov.au.

Travel

The assessment and intervention sessions are delivered in my Essendon practice. A travel fee will be applicable for services delivered outside of a 5kms radius from Essendon. An hourly travel rate of $180 per hr will be applicable. Payment of fees is required on the day of appointment via bank transfer.
